As school comes to an end for summer break, students are overwhelmed with joy. Summer means the endless amount of freedom, a break from daily routines, and creating opportunities to make new memories with your friends. High school only last for so long, so we shall make the most of it. Enjoy the moments with our friends, laugh till we cry, and pull all nighters. Teenage years are short and they fly by sooner than later. Soak in all possible moments and never say no to late night waffle house trips with your friends. As we say goodbye to school and goodbye to our friends may we always remember to make new friendships, stay loyal to the ones you already have and be a little rebellious, for we only have so long with high school summer vacations.

I grew up in a christian home, I have always been strong and open about my faith for the most part, I love knowing that I always have the lord to fall back on and lead me through my crazy life, but sitting in church on Sunday's my pastor was talking about how the lord knew about his crucifixion, he knew that the crowd who once praised him days ago would reject him just because it was "right". He knew his time was coming, that he was about to do what the father had brought him to this earth for. I thought about the pain his disciples would feel, the sorrow his mother would experience and all of the sins that would be forgiven. A couple of days before his crucifixion HE KNEW. He knew that the beatings would heal us of all our iniquities, he knew he would have to bear the sins of the world, the shame, the guilts, the brokenness of the world. He chose to go through with all of it. He chose to have the full wrath of God placed on him, he knew he would have to be alone in this. He knew it all but yet thought of us through it all. We have a God that has a overwhelming, never-ending, forever forgiving love.Exploring the city of Portland, The Pacific Ocean and almost 200 inches of snow at an amazing ski resort was the perfect way to spend the winter break. Each day there was something different to see and explore. Downtown Portland was the perfect little town, almost like something out of a movie. The town had many shops and good places to eat! The Pacific Ocean was nothing short of amazing and the views were more than perfect. Although it was not the sunny, warm ideal beach trip that everyone loves the views made up for it. Portland was an overall amazing trip and many fun memories were made and I am more than excited to go back one day. Except for the 200 inches of snow and blizzard we had to drive back home in, that was not the best part but again the views were nothing but amazing!Normally on winter break my parents love to take the time off and just stay at home and relax, but for the 2019 winter break we decided to take a ski trip to Portland, Oregon to visit family and enjoy the many inches of snow northerners get and to finally southerns only love snow because school and worked get cancelled, which is the best part about snow days anyways. No matter how much snow school is still on for the students and Portland, OR and for most students they have to fight the freezing temperatures and walk to school. The long and boring flight from Atlanta to Portland is definitely not the best part of the trip but if you are lucky enough to get a window seat the views of the Rocky Mountains are breathtaking. There are many sights to see in Oregon, anywhere from the tiny little buildings that have been there since the early 1900's or the amazing things Mother Nature has created. As a type this on the plane I could not be more ready to get off mostly because of the person in front of me has their seat all the way back leaving me no room, I am so ready to create more memories in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon.with only a few weeks left teachers and students are looking forward to a much needed long break. Winter break was just recently added back to the Cobb county school schedule to give the students and teachers a break almost every 6-9 weeks. Winter break occurs at the end of February each year and is a break loved by all students and staff. This break gives them time to relax and gather all work and thoughts after the start of the new semester. Many students travel to warmer destinations to get away from the unwanted winter season, others take the opportunity to embrace the cold and travel north to visit family or maybe even an awaited ski trip to the mountains. whether students take this break to travel or relax and enjoy the time off from school and work winter break is a needed break for students and staff and loves having the time off!A new semester means a new start for each the students and staff of a school. New classes, new students, new teachers. It is a small refresh for both students and staff. You have the opportunities to meet new people and go deeper into exploring your true colors and who you want to become. Freshman got their first semester of high school done and for the seniors only have one more to go until they walk across the stage getting their diploma. With spring semester comes prom, graduation and spring break, the break teachers and students always look forward to. Spring break are filled with moments everyone lives for. Whether it is sitting in a beach chair reading a book or the late night ice cream runs on the beach and loud music playing throughout the condos filled with high schoolers. Each student has something to look forward to at the end of the spring semester, obviously the excitement or summer or the excitement of graduating and starting a new life as a high school graduate.
